Brother Lew's Bayou Burger

with Trinity Topping


Ingredients 
Burgers
  • 1 lb  Ground beef
  • 1 lb Smoked Andouille ( casing removed and separated)
For the Trinity Topping
  • 1 cup Celery Chopped
  • 1 cup Green Bell Pepper Chopped 
  • 2 cups Onions Chopped
  • Olive Oil ( for sautéing the topping)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 1 Bay leaf

Instructions

Remove Andouille from casings and put into a medium bowl.
Put ground beef into same bowl.
Mix the Andouille and ground beef together until combined.  

Let Beef/Andouille mixture sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour ( longer is fine)

Form burgers into 8 patties.  Grill until your desired temp. 

For the trinity topping: 

Saute Onions, Celery, Green Bell Peppers in a frying pan with olive oil.

Add the Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Cayenne, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, dried Oregano,  dried Thyme, Bay leaf

Cook together until soft.  Remove from pan and leave at room temperature to serve with burgers.

Serve with hamburger buns and Trinity topping.
