10 Things the Strong Woman in Your Life Needs to Hear Today
You know her.
She’s the one everyone calls when something goes wrong.
She remembers the appointments. Checks on the family. Handles the details. Keeps everyone moving forward.
And when someone asks how she's doing?
“I’m fine.”
Strong women get very good at being fine.
But sometimes, the woman who carries everyone else needs someone to notice her, too.
If you have a strong woman in your life, here are 10 things she may need to hear today.
1. You don't have to hold everything together.
The world will keep turning if you put something down.
You are allowed to ask for help. You are allowed to say, “I can't do that today.”
Strength isn't measured by how much you can carry before you collapse.
2. Rest is not something you have to earn.
You don't need to finish the laundry, answer every message, clean the kitchen, and take care of everyone else before you're allowed to sit down.
Your body needs recovery.
Rest is part of taking care of yourself—not a reward for exhausting yourself.
3. Your health matters, too.
Not after everyone else's appointments.
Not when life slows down.
Not someday.
Today.
The woman who takes care of everyone deserves to feel strong, energized, and well in her own body.
4. You are allowed to change.
Maybe the things that worked for you at 35 don't work the same way at 55 or 65.
That doesn't mean you've failed.
Your body changes. Your needs change. Your priorities change.
You are allowed to learn a new way.
5. You don't have to apologize for taking care of yourself.
Go for the walk.
Make the appointment.
Buy the better food.
Take the trip.
Spend the hour doing something that makes you feel like yourself again.
Taking care of you is not selfish.
6. Being tired all the time shouldn't be your personality.
Somewhere along the way, many women started joking about exhaustion like it was simply part of getting older.
But feeling depleted every single day deserves attention.
Listen to your body.
It may be asking for support, not more caffeine and another pep talk.
7. You are more than what you do for other people.
You are not just someone's wife, mother, daughter, caregiver, employee, or problem solver.
There is still a woman underneath all those roles.
What does she love?
What makes her laugh?
What does she want to do next?
She's still there.
8. You haven't missed your chance.
You are not too old to get stronger.
You are not too old to improve your health.
You are not too old to travel, climb a mountain, start something new, or completely change the direction of your life.
Your next chapter can look very different from your last one.
9. People who love you want you here—and they want you well.
Sometimes we take better care of ourselves when we remember that our health becomes part of our family's story.
The walks you take today.
The strength you build.
The choices you make consistently.
They aren't only about a number on a scale.
They're about being able to say yes to life.
10. You deserve the same care you give everyone else.
Read that again.
The patience you give.
The encouragement.
The second chances.
The kindness.
The way you tell everyone else, “It's okay. We'll figure it out.”
You deserve to speak to yourself that way, too.
To the strong woman reading this...
Maybe everyone thinks you've got it all together.
Maybe you do—most days.
But you don't always have to be the strong one.
And if you've spent years putting yourself at the bottom of the list, maybe today is the day you move your name a little closer to the top.
You don't have to change everything overnight.
Just start with one choice that supports you.
Because there is still so much life ahead of you.
And you deserve to feel strong enough to live it. ❤️
If you're ready to start taking better care of you but aren't sure where to begin, I'm always happy to share what's helped me.
